Polyester scrim & Thickner yarn for sailing
Polyester Laid Scrims Brief Introduction
A polyester laid scrim built on high-tenacity continuous filaments (including thickner yarn options), chemically bonded into a flat-laid open mesh for sail laminates, sail cloth, and marine composites. Its polyester base delivers flexibility and fatigue resistance — sails withstand flogging, gusts, and UV/wet cycles without brittle failure. Easily laminated with films, coatings, and composite skins. Configurable: width 200–2,500 mm, roll length up to 50,000 m, yarn types multiple, construction square/tri-directional, patterns 0.8–3 yarns/cm, bonding customizable.
Polyester Laid Scrims Characteristics
Absorb Gust & Flogging Loads Without Brittle Failure: Sails see cyclic flogging, gust spikes, and furling/unfurling bends. The scrim’s multi-directional tensile (square/tri-directional) and polyester flexibility reinforce the laminate so cracks don’t start at corners, seams, and reinforcement tabs — extending sail life under professional racing or cruising abuse.
Enable Local Thickening with Thickner Yarn: Thickner yarn can be selectively placed (chemically bonded layout) at high-load zones (clew, head, tack, seam tabs) to boost tear resistance exactly where needed without bulking the whole sail — preserving aerodynamic shape and weight distribution.
Support High-Efficiency Sail Production: 10,000 m rolls feed sail-laminating and coating lines with fewer splice stops — higher yield per shift, fewer splice-related defects on finished sail rolls/cloths.

Polyester Laid Scrims Application
Primary Use: Reinforcement for Sail Laminates, Sail Cloth & Marine Composites
The core application of this polyester laid scrim (with thickner yarn option) is as the hidden tensile grid laminated into or between sail laminates (film–scrim–film or composite-skin stacks), woven/non-woven sail cloth reinforcements, and marine components (kiteboards, hull skins, light awnings, truck cover used in marine settings) under the site’s Sports → Sail laminates and PVC Tarpaulin → sail cloth categories. It is laminated into the sail/composite stack to:

Secondary Applications
a) Aluminum Foil Composite
Nove-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better apperance.
b) PVC Flooring
PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC,also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering, extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is devided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials.
c) None-woven category products reinforced
None-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforced materail on kinds none-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, also some top ends, such as medical paper. It can makes none-woven products with higher tensile strength, while just add very little unit weight.
d) PVC Tarpaulin
Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
