Non-woven laid scrims Brief Introduction
This product is a Laid Scrim (glass, polyester, carbon, or hybrid) engineered as a reinforcement substrate for automotive engine-casing wraps and sound-deadening composites — the under-hood layers that sit inside the engine hood, over the firewall, or around the powertrain tunnel to absorb and block noise while tolerating heat, oil mist, and vibration. It is manufactured by chemically bonding continuous filament yarns (Glass, Polyester, Carbon, Cotton, Flax, Jute, Viscose, Kevlar, Nomex, etc.) into a flat-laid open mesh (square or tri-directional), then laminated into or between the non-woven / fiberglass tissue / heavy-layer stack that forms the damping pack.

Engine-Bay / NVH Grade Property Menu: Depending on yarn choice, the scrim delivers dimensional stability, tensile strength, alkali resistance, tear resistance, fire resistance, anti-microbial properties, water resistance — (glass) survives under-hood thermal cycles (-40 °C to >100 °C) and oil mist; (polyester) adds heat sealability and softer hand for needled non-woven wraps; (carbon/Kevlar) offers ultra-high specific stiffness for lightweight hood-panel and firewall programs.
Long Rolls for Automotive Non-Woven / Damping Lines: Roll width 200–2,500 mm; each roll length can be 10,000 m (platform up to 50,000 m), helping manufacturers improve production efficiency and giving finished products better appearance. Fewer splices per shift on high-speed needle-punch, calender, and laminating lines feeding hood-insulation, firewall-barrier, and undertray-damping mills.

The regular supply of non-woven reinforcement and laminated scrim is 12.5x12.5mm,10x10mm,6.25x6.25mm, 5x5mm,12.5x6.25mm etc. The regular supply grams are 6.5g, 8g, 13g, 15.5g, etc.With high strength and light weight, it can be fully bonded with almost any material and each roll length can be 10,000 meters.

Primary Use: Reinforcement for Automotive Engine Casing Wraps & Sound-Deadening Composites
The core application of this automotive-grade laid scrim is as the hidden tensile grid laminated into or between the non-woven / felt / foam / GMT stack that forms the engine casing shield, sound-deadening pad, or NVH damping layer — and by extension the same scrim platform also serves seat cushions, door-linings, rear shelves, headliners, undershields, outer wheel-arch liners, foams punched parts, and seat back trims within the same Automotive category. Add Thermal & Acoustic Barrier Integrity Without Bulking
Engine-casing shields and sound-deadening pads see engine heat, oil mist, and constant vibration. The scrim adds multi-directional tensile and tear resistance at very low GSM, reinforcing the felt/foam/non-woven sandwich without thickening the panel or blocking acoustic pathways.
Maintain Dimensional Stability Through Press & In-Car Cycles
The scrim's low elongation keeps the engine casing / sound-deadening panel flat through press-forming, trimming, and engine-bay thermal/vibration cycles (-40°C to >150°C), preserving fit around the engine block, transmission, and firewall.
Enable Lightweighting & NVH Targets
With glass, carbon, or hybrid scrim options, the same felt/foam/GMT stack can be down-gauged while holding strength — supporting OEM lightweighting and NVH damping strategies for engine-bay and cabin-noise programs.
Secondary Applications
a) Aluminum Foil Composite
Nove-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better apperance.
b) PVC Flooring
PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC,also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering,extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is devided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials.
c) None-woven category products reinforced
None-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforced materail on kinds none-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, also some top ends, such as medical paper. It can makes none-woven products with higher tensile strength,while just add very little unit weight.
d) PVC Tarpaulin
Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover,light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
