Non-woven laid scrims for outdoor-sports
Non-woven laid scrims Introduction
This product is a Laid Scrim (glass, polyester, carbon, or hybrid), a cost-effective, open-mesh reinforcement fabric positioned as the reinforcement platform for the Outdoor Sports category — covering sail laminates, table tennis rackets, kiteboards, and the sandwich technology of skis and snowboards. It is manufactured by chemically bonding continuous filament yarns (Glass, Polyester, Carbon, Cotton, Flax, Jute, Viscose, Kevlar, Nomex, etc.) into a flat-laid open mesh (square or tri-directional), then supplied as a standalone roll or laminated carrier for integration into foil, non-woven, and composite skin stacks used in sports-equipment mills. Due to lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/low elongation, and corrosion resistance, the scrim offers measurable value compared to conventional reinforcement concepts and bonds readily with many material systems common to sail-loft and board/racket laminating lines. Ruifiber makes these scrims to order for specific usages — designed to satisfy customer requests and be highly compatible with their process and product.
Non-woven laid scrims Characteristics
Outdoor-Sports Grade Property Profile: Dimensional stability, tensile strength, alkali resistance, tear resistance, fire resistance, anti-microbial properties, water resistance — the scrim survives laminating heat and the long-term flex / flutter / impact / UV / freeze-thaw cycles of sail and board gear, while its low elongation keeps the laminate skin flat and bonded under load.
High Strength & Light Weight: Available in a range of regular mesh sizes and grammages covering the platform's common specifications (from fine to coarse grids, with regular supply grams 6.5g / 8g / 13g / 15.5g etc.), delivering high tensile and tear resistance at minimal added weight — critical for sail laminates and board sandwiches where every gram counts. Fully bondable with almost any material; each roll length up to 50,000 m to support continuous sports-equipment lines.
Long Rolls for Sports-Equipment Laminating Lines: Roll width 200–2,500 mm; roll length up to 50,000 m. Fewer splices per shift on high-speed laminating and sandwich-panel lines feeding sail-loft and board/racket mills, fewer weak spots in finished composite rolls.
Non-woven laid scrims Application
Primary Use: Reinforcement Across the Outdoor Sports Composite Stack
The core application of this outdoor-sports grade laid scrim is as the hidden tensile grid laminated into the skin stack of multiple sports-equipment categories — sail laminates, table tennis rackets, kiteboards, and the sandwich technology of skis and snowboards. It is sandwiched into the composite stack to:
Prevent Skin/Foil Tear Under Flutter, Bend & Impact
Sail skins (foil + non-woven/film) see constant flutter, batten gust, and shearing; board/racket sandwiches see flex and impact loading. The scrim's multi-directional tensile arrests tear initiation at seams, corners, and clew/tack/edge zones, extending gear life without adding weight.
Stabilize Thin Sandwich Builds
In kiteboards, skis/snowboards, and table tennis rackets where thin sandwiches are the norm, the scrim keeps the foil–composite face flat through flex cycles and impact, while adding negligible weight to the final gear.
Enable High-Efficiency Laminating Across the Category
50,000 m roll length feeds high-speed laminating and sandwich lines with fewer splice stops — higher yield per shift, more consistent batch appearance across sail, board, and racket programs.
Secondary Applications
a) Aluminum Foil Composite
Nove-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better apperance.
b) PVC Flooring
PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC,also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering, extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is devided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials.
c) None-woven category products reinforced
None-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforced materail on kinds none-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, also some top ends, such as medical paper. It can makes none-woven products with higher tensile strength, while just add very little unit weight.
d) PVC Tarpaulin
Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
The Professional manufacturer and supplier of laid scrims in China!
Due to lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, corrosion preventive, laid scrims offers tremendous value compared to conventional material concepts. And it's easily to laminate with many kinds of materials, this makes it has an extensive fields of applications.
