Fiberglass net fabric laid scrims fiberglass tissue composites mat
Fiberglass Laid Scrims Brief Introduction
This product is a Fiberglass Laid Scrim + Fiberglass Tissue Composite Mat, a cost-effective reinforcement substrate where a fiberglass laid scrim (continuous E-glass filaments in a chemically bonded open mesh, square or tri-directional) is combined with a fiberglass tissue layer to form a composite carrier. The scrim supplies multi-directional tensile and tear resistance, while the tissue provides a fine, coatable surface for bitumen impregnation or coating bite — making the composite a preferred carrier for roofing membranes, waterproof facings, and insulation overlays. Compared with using tissue alone, adding the scrim layer arrests crack initiation and improves handling toughness during calender lamination and on-site torching/laying. Configurable: roll width 200–2,500 mm, roll length up to 10,000 m, yarn types (Glass led, also Polyester, Carbon, Kevlar, Nomex, etc.), construction square / tri-directional, patterns 0.8–3 yarns/cm, bonding (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, customized).
Fiberglass Laid Scrims Characteristics
Composite "Tissue + Scrim" Property Profile (Glass Version): Dimensional stability, tensile strength, alkali resistance, tear resistance, fire resistance — the E-glass scrim adds multi-directional tensile and crack arrest, while the fiberglass tissue evens out the surface for coating/impregnation and improves handling toughness. Suited to bitumen membranes, roof underlayment, and facade/insulation facings that see heat, UV, and humidity cycles.
High Strength & Light Weight: Page data: CF12.5×12.5PH (12.5×12.5mm, 6.2–6.6 g/m²), CF10×10PH (10×10mm, 8–9 g/m²), CF6.25×6.25PH (6.25×6.25mm, 12–13.2 g/m²), CF5×5PH (5×5mm, 15.2 g/m²); regular supply mesh also 12.5×6.25mm, regular supply grams 6.5g / 8g / 13g / 15.5g etc. High strength-to-weight, fully bondable with almost any material.
Long Rolls for Mat / Bitumen Calender Lines: Each roll length can be 10,000 meters — "It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m," and gives finished products better appearance. Fewer splices per shift on high-speed calenders or mat laminators, fewer weak spots in finished membrane rolls.

Fiberglass Laid Scrims Application
Primary Use: Reinforcement Substrate for Roofing Membranes, Waterproof Facings & Insulation Overlays
The core application of this composite (fiberglass scrim + fiberglass tissue) is as the carrier / reinforcement substrate in bitumen membranes, SBS/APP modified bitumen, roof underlayment, and facade/insulation facings. It is delivered as a scrim-laminated tissue or composite mat stack to:
Balance Surface Fineness & Core Tensile for Bitumen Coating
The tissue face takes bitumen evenly, while the scrim underneath arrests tear initiation and adds multi-directional tensile — preventing the membrane from splitting during torch application, foot traffic, or substrate movement.
Improve Handling Toughness on Calender & Job Site
The composite is tougher than tissue-alone, resisting creasing, edge fray, and roll-collapse during unwind, layup, and torching — useful for premium modified-bitumen lines and export roofing programs.
Maintain Dimensional Stability in Service
The scrim's low elongation keeps the membrane from cupping, wrinkling, or drifting at lap edges as the assembly heats/cools or seasons — preserving lap-seal integrity on roofs and facades.
Secondary Applications
This fiberglass laid scrim (and its tissue-composite form) is also extensively applied in:
a) Aluminum Foil Composite
Nove-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better apperance.
b) PVC Flooring
PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC,also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering, extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is devided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials.
c) None-woven category products reinforced
None-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforced materail on kinds none-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, also some top ends, such as medical paper. It can makes none-woven products with higher tensile strength, while just add very little unit weight.
d) PVC Tarpaulin
Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
