Polyester stretch mesh fabric Laid Scrims for medical blood-absorbing paper
Polyester Laid Scrims Brief Introduction
This product is a Polyester Laid Scrim (stretch-mesh variant), a cost-effective, open-mesh reinforcement fabric engineered specifically for medical blood-absorbing paper and surgical absorbent tissue. It is manufactured by chemically bonding continuous polyester filament yarns into a flat-laid, stretch-mesh open construction (square or tri-directional optional), with binder options (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, or customized) to match medical paper laminating, thermal bonding, and converting processes. Compared with standard square scrims, the stretch-mesh variant offers improved conformability to thin paper substrates — critical when the reinforced tissue must stay flexible, absorb fluid aggressively, and survive gloved handling, folding, and sterilization packaging. The scrim is laminated into or behind the paper/tissue stack to become a hidden "tensile skeleton" that prevents linting, splitting, or disintegration when saturated.
Polyester Laid Scrims Characteristics
Medical-Paper Adapted Polyester Properties: Dimensional stability, tensile strength, alkali resistance, tear resistance, fire resistance, anti-microbial properties, water resistance — a profile purpose-built for disposable medical consumables where the substrate must absorb fluid, resist tearing under gloved handling, and remain compatible with sealing or converting equipment.
Long Rolls for Medical Paper / Tissue Converting: Each roll length can be 10,000 meters, which helps manufacturers improve production efficiency and gives finished products better appearance. Fewer splices per shift on high-speed laminating and slitting lines, fewer weak spots in finished paper/tissue rolls.

Polyester Laid Scrims Application
Primary Use: Reinforcement for Medical Blood-Absorbing Paper & Surgical Absorbent Tissue
The core application of this polyester stretch-mesh laid scrim is as the hidden tensile skeleton laminated into or behind medical blood-absorbing paper, surgical tissue, and other disposable medical absorbent papers for hospitals, labs, and clinical settings. It is laminated into the paper/tissue stack to:
Prevent Disintegration When Saturated
Blood-absorbing paper must pull fluid while staying intact through gloved handling, folding, and repetitive wiping. The scrim arrests tear propagation so the pad does not lint, split, or fall apart when saturated — critical for OR and emergency settings.
Maintain Conformability & Drape While Adding Strength
The stretch-mesh construction adds multi-directional tensile with minimal mass, so the tissue remains flexible and conformable to body contours or instrument trays, rather than turning stiff like a woven insert would.
Enable Converting & Sterile-Pack Compatibility
With PVOH or hot-melt binders, the scrim is compatible with thermal laminating and folding lines used in medical paper converting — allowing the reinforced tissue to be folded, stacked, and sealed into sterile packs or dispenser boxes without adhesive oozing or ply separation.
Secondary Applications
a) Aluminum Foil Composite
Nove-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better apperance.
b) PVC Flooring
PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC,also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering, extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is devided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials.
c) None-woven category products reinforced
None-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforced materail on kinds none-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, also some top ends, such as medical paper. It can makes none-woven products with higher tensile strength, while just add very little unit weight.
d) PVC Tarpaulin
Laid scrim can be used as basic materials to produce truck cover, light awning, banner, sail cloth etc.
