    Polyester Laid Scrims Brief Introduction

This product is a Polyester Laid Scrim, a cost-effective, high-performance reinforcement fabric engineered specifically as the base skeleton for reinforced PVC tarpaulin supplied to Middle East markets. It is manufactured by chemically bonding continuous polyester filament yarns into an open mesh construction (square or tri-directional), with binder options (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, or customized) to match different PVC coating, laminating, and heat-sealing processes. Compared with glass-fiber scrims, the polyester version offers softer hand-feel, heat sealability, and better conformability — critical when the tarpaulin must endure the Middle East's extreme conditions: high UV, high temperature, sand-laden wind, and large diurnal temperature swings. The scrim is laminated between PVC layers (or between PVC and a backing) to become the "load-carrying grid" inside truck covers, light awnings, banners, and sail cloth.

    Polyester Laid Scrims Characteristics

Tarpaulin-Adapted Polyester Property Set: Per the page's "Polyester Laid Scrims Characteristics" — tensile strength, tear resistance, heat sealable, anti-microbial properties, water resistance, self-adhesive compatibility, eco-friendly, decomposable, and recyclable. This combination matters for Middle East outdoor projects where tarps face prolonged sun, sand abrasion, and repeated rigging / de-rigging.

Long Rolls for Wide-Format PVC Coating Lines: Roll width 200–2,500 mm; each roll length can be 10,000 meters per page: "it can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m". Fewer splices per shift on wide-format PVC coating lines, fewer weak spots in finished tarpaulin rolls — and the page notes non-woven laid scrim is widely applied in the aluminium foil industry with the same 10,000 m logic, which carries over into tarpaulin converting.

    Polyester Laid Scrims Application

Primary Use: Base Reinforcement for PVC Tarpaulin, Truck Covers, Awnings, Banners & Sail Cloth

The core and specialized application of this polyester laid scrim is as the load-carrying mesh skeleton laminated inside PVC tarpaulin for Middle East construction sites, logistics yards, event structures, agriculture, and near-shore marine use. It is sandwiched between PVC coating layers (or PVC + backing) to:

Deliver Tear Propagation Resistance & High Tensile Rating

The scrim turns a monolithic PVC film into a composite that resists initiation and spread of tears caused by wind flutter, sharp cargo edges, or repeated rigging — a frequent failure mode in truck covers and site shelters across Gulf markets.

Maintain Flatness & Dimensional Stability Under Heat

PVC tarpaulin on Middle East roofs and façades sees daytime >45 °C and intense UV. The scrim's low elongation and dimensional stability keep the sheet from sagging, billowing, or pulling fixtures loose as the PVC expands, preserving appearance and structural fixity.

    Enable Wide-Format, Seamless Runs

With roll length up to 10,000 m and widths to 2,500 mm, the scrim feeds wide-format coating lines with fewer splices — meaning the finished tarpaulin roll has fewer joint-related weak points, and converters waste less material on start-stop.

    Secondary Applications

Per the product page, this polyester (and glass-hybrid) laid scrim is also extensively applied in:

    PVC Flooring

PVC flooring is mainly made of PVC plus other necessary chemical materials via calendering or extrusion, divided into sheet and roller types. All major domestic and foreign manufacturers now apply laid scrim as the reinforcement layer to avoid joint separation or bulging between floor pieces caused by thermal expansion and contraction.

    Aluminum Foil Composite

Non-woven laid scrim is widely applied in the aluminium foil industry; 10,000 m roll length helps manufacturers improve production efficiency and gives finished products better appearance.

    Non-Woven Category Reinforcement

Non-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforcement on kinds of non-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, and top-end items such as medical paper — increases tensile strength with minimal unit weight addition.
