Laid Scrim mesh fabric reinforce paper towel for industrial use
Laid Scrims Brief Introduction
This product is a Laid Scrim Mesh, a high-performance reinforcement fabric engineered specifically for enhancing the strength and durability of industrial paper towels, wipes, and specialty papers. It is a cost-effective, open mesh material manufactured by chemically bonding continuous filament yarns (such as glass or polyester). Designed to be laminated with paper or non-woven substrates, it provides exceptional tensile strength, dimensional stability, and resistance to tearing, transforming standard paper products into robust, industrial-grade wiping and cleaning materials. The product is highly customizable, with available roll widths from 200 to 2500 mm and roll lengths up to 10,000 meters (with platform capacity extending to 50,000 m), to suit large-scale industrial production needs.
Laid Scrims Characteristics
Superior Material Properties: The scrim possesses a comprehensive set of beneficial characteristics, including high tenacity, excellent dimensional stability, flexibility, low shrinkage, low elongation, alkali resistance, fire resistance, and corrosion resistance — making it suitable for demanding industrial wiping environments.
High Strength & Light Weight: It delivers substantial reinforcement while being lightweight. Common specifications include CF12.5×12.5PH at approximately 6.2–6.6 g/m², CF10×10PH at ~8–9 g/m², CF6.25×6.25PH at ~12–13.2 g/m², and CF5×5PH at ~15.2 g/m². Mesh options also cover 12.5×6.25mm for tailored openness. This high strength-to-weight ratio allows it to significantly increase the mechanical performance of paper towels and wipes with minimal added mass.
Wide Material & Customization Options: Available in various yarn types (Glass, Polyester, Carbon, etc.), mesh constructions (Square, tri-directional), patterns, and bonding agents (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, customized). The long roll format (up to 10,000 m per roll as standard, platform up to 50,000 m) supports efficient, continuous manufacturing of wipes and industrial paper Converting lines.

Laid Scrims Application
Primary Use: Reinforcement for High-Performance Industrial Wipes & Paper Towels
The core application of this laid scrim is as a reinforcing layer in the production of heavy-duty industrial paper towels, wipes, and specialty papers. It is laminated to the paper or non-woven substrate to:
Enhance Tensile & Tear Strength
PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC,also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering, extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is devided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials.
Create Durable, Reusable-Like Products
Allows for the manufacture of stronger paper towels and wipes that can withstand more demanding use, potentially reducing consumption per task and improving cost-effectiveness for industrial users.
Enable Functional Specialty Papers
Also used to reinforce higher-end products such as medical paper, where added strength and integrity are critical while maintaining processability.
Secondary Applications
Due to its versatile reinforcement properties and open mesh design, this type of laid scrim is extensively applied in numerous other industrial sectors:
Aluminum Foil Composite
Used as a reinforcement layer in insulation and building wrap composites; roll lengths up to 10,000 m improve production efficiency and finished product appearance.
PVC Flooring
Serves as a critical stabilizing layer to counteract the thermal expansion and contraction of flooring materials, preventing joint separation or bulging between floor pieces.
Due to lightweight, high strength, low shrinkage/elongation, corrosion preventive, laid scrims offers tremendous value compared to conventional material concepts. And it's easily to laminate with many kinds of materials, this makes it has an extensive fields of applications.
