    Fiberglass Laid Scrims Brief Introduction

This product is a Fiberglass Laid Scrim, a cost-effective, high-performance reinforcement fabric engineered specifically as the load-carrying skeleton for aluminum foil thermal insulation composites supplied to Middle East markets. It is manufactured by chemically bonding continuous E-glass filament yarns into an open mesh construction (square or tri-directional), with binder options (PVOH, PVC, Acrylic, or customized) to match different foil laminating and coating processes. In a typical aluminum foil insulation stack, the scrim is laminated between the foil and the backing (PE film, non-woven, kraft, or foam), turning a fragile foil layer into a tear-resistant, dimensionally stable insulation facing.

    Fiberglass Laid Scrims Characteristics

Fiberglass Material Properties: Per the page's description of glass fiber laid scrim characteristics — high tenacity, alkali resistance, dimensional stability, flexible, low shrinkage, low elongation, fire resistance, corrosion resistance. E-glass base tolerates alkaline residues on concrete substrates, and the non-combustible skeleton supports fire strategy for building-wrap and duct-insulation systems.

Long Rolls for Foil Lamination Lines: Roll width 200–2,500 mm; each roll length can be 10,000 meters per page. Page explicitly states: "Non-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better appearance."Fewer splices per shift on high-speed foil laminators, higher yield, fewer weak spots in finished foil rolls.

    Fiberglass Laid Scrims Application

Primary Use: Reinforcement for Aluminum Foil Thermal Insulation

The core and specialized application of this fiberglass laid scrim is as the hidden reinforcement grid laminated between aluminum foil and its backing (PE film, non-woven, kraft, or foam) for building insulation, HVAC duct wrapping, and pipeline insulation across Middle East markets. It is sandwiched into the foil composite to:

Prevent Tear During Handling & Installation

Aluminum foil alone tears easily when pulled over rigid ducts or cut on-site. The scrim absorbs handling stress and arrests any tear that does start, keeping the vapor barrier continuous — critical for insulation R-value and condensation control in Gulf HVAC systems.

Improve Production Efficiency on Lamination Lines

"Non-woven laid scrim is widely applied in aluminium foil industry. It can help manufacture to develop the production efficiency as the roll length can reach 10000m. It also makes the finished product with better appearance."(Page wording.) Fewer splice stops on high-speed foil laminators, higher yield per shift, more consistent batch appearance.

    Maintain Dimensional Stability in Service

The scrim's low elongation and dimensional stability keep the foil-facing from cupping, wrinkling, or pulling fasteners loose as the assembly heats/cools or absorbs humidity — preserving lap-seal integrity on ducts and building wraps.

    Secondary Applications

Per the product page, this fiberglass laid scrim is also extensively applied in other industrial sectors:

    PVC Flooring

"PVC Flooring is mainly made of PVC, also other necessary chemical material during manufacture. It is produced by calendering, extrusion progress or other manufacture progress, it is divided into PVC Sheet Floor and PVC Roller Floor. Now all major domestic and foreign manufactures are applying it as the reinforcement layer to avoiding the joint or bulge between pieces, which is caused by the heat expansion and contraction of materials."

    Non-Woven Category Reinforcement

"Non-woven laid scrim is widely used as reinforced material on kinds of non-woven fabric, such as fiberglass tissue, polyester mat, wipes, also some top ends, such as medical paper. It can make non-woven products with higher tensile strength, while just add very little unit weight."
